As I sit here and write this post I feel so exhausted. I also sit here very content, excited and with a grateful heart. I’ve recently spent a lot of time with family and my boyfriend is visiting Maine for the first time this weekend! I am so excited I can hardly contain it!
Last weekend my brother and his girlfriend came to Portland to spend the night with friends, and I got to join in on the fun! We started the afternoon off by brewery hopping, which was an adventure! If you know me at all you’ll know I am not a fan of beer, so going to breweries was totally out of character LOL! We went to Allagash and Foundation breweries, which were right across the street from each other. The atmosphere was great in both, even though they were so different. Allagash was filled with wood and rustic touches where Foundation had a more industrial vibe. I loved Foundation because we all sat at a large table and played games!
After a lot of laughter and getting to know new people we headed down to the Old Port. We ate our weight in Five Guys burgers and fries and then went to Bonfire and Bubba’s. We had so much fun at Bonfire singing along to all of the throwback country songs that came on. Bubba’s was such a mashup of different rooms, dance floors and memorabilia. Odd, strange and fun are the words that come to mind, but it was definitely an experience you couldn’t get anywhere else!
After a long night we got my favorite donuts from The Holy Donut and then I spent the day with my mom doing some shopping. We finished Sunday off by having dinner at Tuscan Table in South Portland, which is one of the best places! The food and drinks are amazing, but the atmosphere is what makes it so incredible. I would highly recommend going if you’re in the area!
I am so exhausted from the weekend, work and then cleaning my entire apartment (probably the cleanest it’s ever been)! I think I could sleep for two days straight, but my boyfriend will be here in just a few short hours! I can’t wait to see him and show him my home state. We are planning on doing some tourist-y things around Portland and then heading to my hometown to ski. This will surely be an amazing weekend!
